Life with Supermom: A $17 Burger Trip

Once again, I hit the road on another major errand.

Along with my driver, my brother lol, and my son in the back we travel to Toronto where I have to obtain my Philippine Citizenship.  When my parents arrived here from The Philippines they had my brother and I before they were officially Canadian Citizens, therefore by default, my brother and I are Philippine citizens as our birthright.

We inherited land and I have to show that I am truly a citizen.  (It is illegal to own land in the Philippines if you are not a citizen) I had to got to the Philippine Consulate in Toronto to do this.  My brother and I made this trip 2 times before and since this was our 3rd trip to the Consulate I had triple checked that I had everything I needed.   Our birthright situation is a very uncommon one and there were 2 separate applications I was required to fill out plus a lot of documentation I needed to have sent to me in order for my to complete the process.  Luckily, the nightmare is over and I can rest easy.  I will have to go back to Toronto in a few days to get my official passport, but I know that this time, I will be much more excited!

Here’s a few moments of my trip with my brother from my craziness to some highway rest stop food.  He’s my big brother and my first best friend who has put up with me since I was born.. poor guy… but, we always have a great time hanging out, laughing and chatting.

Enjoy and have a great week!  🙂

Much love,

Life with Supermom: An Appointment Story

I dutifully took my son to his follow-up bone specialist appointment.  He broke his collarbone a month ago and I had to come back to X-ray his clavicle.  My appointment was at 10:25am and I didn’t get home until 1:30pm!

I showed up at my appointment time, “checked-in”, waited for them to call my number, which was 2 hours.  We had the X-ray done, although my little man screamed the whole time because he was scared of the X-ray machine.  We had to wait another hour to see the doctor.  When we finally saw someone, they showed me his X-ray results and it looked like it was healing properly.  It took about 5 minutes for her to tell me what was happening and that they didn’t need to see him again unless he was complaining about pain.

Before we actually saw the doctor, my lil pterodactyl decides to poop.  Lucky for me, there was a washroom nearby, UNLUCKY for me they didn’t have a change table in it.  So, I grabbed a chair and took it into the bathroom and tried to maneuver my awkward diaper change chair.  The diaper was changed successfully and a lady after me thanked me because she needed to change her baby, too.  All in all it worked out for my fellow Momma and me.

Now my beef is that the wait was ridiculous!  The huge waiting room was packed full of people, which I suspect they had double booked us all.  Keeping my 2 year old entertained with my iPad mini was a challenge because all he wanted to do was walk around.

It wasn’t one of my favourite times in my life, but I’m happy to be finished with those appointments.  Whew!

Much love to all! 🙂

Time to get organized!

We are well into 2015 and I am so excited about all the projects that are coming into full effect lately.  I must admit with the kids being on so many different schedules, it’s been a serious challenge to keep everyone on track.

Recently, my 2 year old broke his collarbone, he is healing well 🙂 , however with his follow up appointments and appointments for the other children I’ve been hardly able to keep up!  I’ve been constantly checking my phone, setting alarms, but I still have that feeling I’m forgetting something even though I’ve checked and re-checked my upcoming events.

I was sitting in the waiting room for my son’s appointment, surrounded by people with broken bones, listening to the receptionist booking appointments and watching people bringing out their phones and/or taking a handwritten appointment cards.  In a world full of electronics and paperless everything, I knew in that moment I was not completely sold on the electronic planner.

I’ve carried around a paper planner for as long as I can remember and I attempted to go completely on the use of my phone while I was still searching for last year’s planner replacement.  Sadly, I shopped in Staples, Walmart, Target, Chapters/Indigo and couldn’t find what I needed.  There were planners there, but all of them either looked to businesslike, too plain, or just boring.  So into the world of online shopping I went and I found the Erin Condren life planners.  The website is very clean and simple and very easy on the eyes.  The fact that I could personalize my own planner, my own stationery, etc. made my decision to order one that much more fun.

I ordered my planner on Friday, January 30, 2015 and I received it on Friday, February 6!  Considering I placed my order late Friday night, I wasn’t expecting to receive it so soon.  They provided a tracking number and of course I stalked it, but I was still surprised to receive it in the mail.

The packaging was so nice, mostly because my favourite colour is purple lol, but when I opened it the surprises just kept coming!

I have been working with my planner and also letting my creativity spill all over the pages!  For those of you who enjoy expressing yourself on paper as well as keeping yourself organized, I highly recommend these planners.  I ordered the “Quick Ship” planner so I could receive it right away and opted to personalize it after I received it.  So far, I ordered a personalized removable and interchangeable cover, some personalized address labels and some attachable clips.  My mind is finally at peace and I can work with both my phone and my planner and I don’t feel as lost as I used to.

I’ve provided the website link as well as a coupon code for $10 off your first order for those who are interested in ordering some of their products.  These will also make a great gift for those who are looking for something customized and unique for someone special.  You won’t be disappointed!

I’m off to plan more of my life 😉

Much love,

What do you do on an 18 hour flight?

I’m sending out a special thank you to Mr. O for answering my question about an upcoming 18 hour flight.  Things can get boring and there isn’t much room to really stretch out.  He gave me some great tips on how to prepare for a lengthy stay on the plane.  I’m kind of on the fence about this upcoming trip, nothing is in stone yet there’s still a 50% chance I’ll be staying on my half of the world.  It is nice to know that I have geared up on some advice to prepare for a whole 18 hour trip.

Enjoy the video and thanks again for stopping by!

Much love,

Return of the false eyelashes

I have been wearing false lashes on and off since I was 15 years old and I’m happy to see that they are back in my life with even more varieties and styles to choose from.  I now feel “naked” without them.  Since my friends have asked me many questions on how I apply them, I decided to make a video tutorial on how I apply false lashes.  I hope you all enjoy it and if you know anyone in need for it please pass it along.

Take care everyone and have an awesome day! 🙂

A Captured Mind

It happens so fast
You cannot help who you love
It may have been one
Or all those above

Something so strong
It could tear out your heart
It cuts through you like butter
And you fall apart

Beyond the strings
Of distance and time
You’re drawn like a magnet
They’ve captured your mind

You wear your armour
Made of your smiles
The attraction you feel
Is more than just “mild”

You long to hold them
And be by their side
They’re just out of your reach
So your emotions you hide
