The final weekend of March 2015 is coming to an end and I must say I really enjoyed the month. I accomplished a lot and organized myself to allow for my projects to finally come to fruition. Is it sad that I finally feel like a grown up? haha I’m just kidding! I never wanna grow up!
My new pup will be arriving in a couple days and I just finished making him a baby blanket. Apparently, most Chinese Crested dogs are allergic to wool and I figured him coming off a 2 hour flight, probably traumatized, he will most likely need a new blanket. The wait was for almost 6 weeks to get him and I’m so excited to meet my new lil guy. I plan to bring him everywhere I go, a spirit animal, if you will. 😉
Although in many parts of Canada they are calling for more snow, I’m lucky enough to live in the southern part of Canada. The weather people still claim there’s another round of snow heading my way and in some parts of the Mid-West U.S. they have received some more of the white stuff. Since it’s too cold to go outside just yet, I made it through the kids’ March Break. I can’t even front that it was a breeze! The first couple of days was calm but towards the end of the week the kids were driving me bananas! Luckily, a new and larger Dollarama store opened up close to my grocery store so I had a chance to wander through the aisles about 45 minutes before closing. I stopped by the craft area and picked up a large package of pipe cleaners, pom-poms and google eyes. I grabbed a couple bottles of glue and headed home. My 6yr old is very high energy and with the older kids on the playstation, I took him aside and helped make him some pipe cleaner caterpillars and pom-pom birds.
My tablecloth was riddled with dried glue, but my kids all enjoyed making all kinds of critters, so into the wash it goes!
I recently introduced “A Different World” to my Netflix roster. I was so happy when Netflix released it. That show represented the 90s fashion and subjects dealing with growing up that you don’t see so much these days. With all the reality shows showing so much disfunction and not enough solution, I was relieved that my older kids got to watch these episodes with me. Surprisingly, watching the shows and learning about their characters created a lot of conversation and discussions. Life challenges, especially in the show, aren’t all paved with fancy rainbow colours, there were some actual topics that provoked adult thought and dilemmas. If not just for the nostalgia, I highly recommend watching the seasons of A Different World, the humour is fun and for once I can actually sit down and watch a show that isn’t as heavy as most of the tv shows these days.
As always it’s great to finally be reunited with my girl Princess Stepford we always seem to laugh and enjoy what we do and that is to entertain. This last episode was good ol’ thought provoking fun that lead us both into the YouTube abyss.
This week has been filled with some challenging events but it’s great to know I got through it and I’m going to use this weekend to refresh for the upcoming week. I have an upcoming weekend, yet again, filled with appointments and meetings. In one way, it’s great to have something to look forward to so I guess there’s that lol.
I hope everyone is having a safe and fabulously fun and relaxing weekend! 🙂
Beginning this past Monday, my trip to get my Philippine passport once again was put on hold, fortunately, I did manage to get all the papers in and will be picking up my passport officially in May… MAY 2015! Ugh I was extra frustrated when I read the May pickup date, but hey, you can’t beat their processing game so I have to just live with it. I do have to pick up some legal documents next Monday, however I’ll just leave that event for now and try and get through this week.
As soon as I got home on Monday evening, I had to go to the hospital with my son because he had to get some minor surgery on his foot. It was yet another uphill battle, surrounded with sickly adults and coughing babies… it was enough to make my head spin! The doctors were excellent and it went well. He has to recover at home, obviously, and I gained yet another “job” of being his nurse… UNfortunately for him, I have a terrible bedside manner and I did happen to yell at him for moving when I was trying to change his gauze today. It happens…
I have a full week of appointments so this just is not my favourite week. This weekend looks way better and I’m looking forward to my upcoming radio show on Saturday evening (Stiletto Says Episode 3 http://tobtr.com/s/7405951) It will be a huge relief after this week is finally over.
Hope everyone is having a better week than I am! Much love to you all and KEEP SMILING! 😉
