This is one of my favourite things to do in my surroundings. We have a fabulous fresh Farmer’s Market close by and I just love it. Fresh fruits and veggies, meats, baked goods and the sound of vendors yelling out their upcoming sales is like music to my ears. I even had a chance to look through all the furniture that I will be decorating my house with.
I stocked up in meats, bought some amazingly fresh butter and raspberry cream tarts and smoked mackerel. OMG I love this so much, it could be my childhood upbringing when my parents other family friends would get together have potluck dinners, there was always BBQd fish somewhere among the sea of Filipino foods. I decided that I want to share that same kind of traditions with my children.
I hope you enjoy the video of the travel to the Farmer’s Market!
More to come..
It’s weird that over time we all forget to look around and see how lucky we all are to be alive and breathing. Being a Canadian sometimes makes us complacent and numb to what we really have. Our country is rich in resources, kind people and humour. Canadians always get the same old lame jokes on the use of “eh” and “Sorry”; but newsflash… We aren’t really that sorry, eh! It’s funny when other countries have a lot of shit to say about us, yet they have never had the pleasure to visit our country nor really know any of us. We are the constant “joke”, however over the years I have realized one common thing with my fellow Canadians and that is… we really don’t have that much to complain about. Of course, we are not free from crime, violence, etc. but, as I look out my open window and it’s quiet with a few sounds from the neighbourhood kids. I truly appreciate where I am.
I rant about the current government, I won’t go into that in this post lol, but when I stop and think about it we have a lot more say, we have a lot more power than we even know. On that note, my new adventure will include visiting all the towns and cities that surround my little corner of Canada. I will bring you all with me and show you the world through my eyes.
Canada turns 150 years old on July 1st, I will be spending it with my recently reunited childhood best friend and our families. It’s time to celebrate our beautiful Canada and what it has always had to offer! YAY Canada!!
I spent the entire day getting my schedule together for the upcoming week, from making a new playlist for my radio show to getting my tasks in order. I have some videos to edit and I can’t wait to upload them. I also have some interviews to plan for as well as content to get organized. I admit, I’ve been all over the place, but I’m getting closer to be more consistent. Believe me when I say that this is one of the biggest challenges for me.
For example, it’s 12:09am on I’ve been so distracted with Twitter and my Instagram feeds and having a blast. I love laughing with my online folk, I can’t help but to share a few crazy tweets and pictures. Ah well, at least I’m having fun and meeting new people in the worldwide web. I can honestly say I’ve met amazing people, they could also be catfishes but at least I’ll have fun trying to find out. haha
Ok, I’ve really got to focus.. omg I’m the worst! haha
Today begins the Easter Weekend. Thankfully , the sun is shining and it is warm enough to do some walking. After my 9 year old and my 5 year old were done eating their after school snack of apples; I brought out my packs of stickers and construction paper and told them to make some pages, hats, or whatever they wanted. They loved the idea of making crowns and hats. The house is so quiet and I actually have time to write and work..as well as repaint my nails.
I filed and shaped my nails and I came up with a pastel purple, pink and green look.
On my left hand I painted OPI’s Lucky Lucky Lavender with Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in no, 540 Jaded on the ring finger. On my right hand, I put the same lavender colour, but I used OPI’s If You Moust You Moust on the ring finger. I’ll be going to my brother’s house for Easter this year. I don’t have a clue what I’m going to wear but I’m going to be rocking these nails out. It’s traditional for all of the women in our family to sit down after dinner and paint our nails, chat and watch movies while sipping our coffees or teas. I know my sis inlaw will expect me to bring my nail polish.
I also bought these Sharpie 80’s Glam markers from Staples on sale for $15.00…
…and from Michael’s Craft Store I bought these adhesive ribbons that for $9.99 with their 40% off sale.
I was clearing out my studio for some shelving and supply storage and I came to my picture box. Most of the photos had taken some years of abuse from packing and unpacking. Since everything is digital, I figured I’d seriously focus on getting these into scrapbooks before they get completely destroyed. So far, it’s been very relaxing going through my old photos of the kids. The best part is my brother left all his things with me on various moves. From his paintings to his old decorations from his old place. I came across his old pictures from when he was sporting around long hair, driving a Tracker and Keanu Reeves was the latest girl-craze. I’m putting a page together for him which will be hilarious because I’m sure he’s completely forgotten about these.
I’m looking forward to this weekend with my kids and my family… bring it on Easter! 🙂
