Girly time with Bestie

Over already?!

It's the Civic Holiday weekend and it feels like the summer months passed by so fast! I blame most of this on the weirdest weather I've seen in years! It would rain so hard it sounded like hail against my windows, thunderstorms at least once a week followed by extreme heat where I could hardly breathe. Although, I'd rather have this weather than the upcoming winter months.

The back-to-school supplies and clothing are in all the stores, I can almost hear my bank account cry for my school shopping days that are just around the corner. It will be an emotional school year for me as my last little pterodactyl will be leaving the nest to go to school. So far, he knows his numbers up to 10 and backwards, but he refuses to sing the alphabet song lol. Thanks to the iPad he does know what the letters are, but he just doesn't like the song. I'm guessing that he thinks the song is dumb, he rolls his eyes every time I ask him to sing it.

Lately, my days are filled with doll orders and event planning. It's a truly exciting time for me. I have found what I love in all aspects of my life from the kids, social life and now my artistry. They often say that when your personal life is good everything else around is chaos. I am living proof that the saying is NOT true. We all need to find the balance in our own lives or things get harder and harder to do. It's like the universe makes some things in our lives difficult in order to accept something better in our lives. "Out with the old, in with the new" has a deeper meaning than we think. This whole year has unraveled many important life choices for me. My family relationships have been stronger now than ever, financial security is finally here, reuniting with my childhood best friend, maintaining deeper relationships with my friends from all over my online world and forming new amazing friendships who have cleared my mind and settled my soul.

Yes, you can have it all, yes abundance is attainable. If you want these things, you have to release everything that you know is holding you back. It will seem so difficult to let go, but it will be worth it and those difficult moments you are experiencing right now, will be in your distant past. Right when you're about to give up hope is when you have to gather up as much strength as you have to get through the rough moments. You will see your end goals, not when YOU want to see it, but when you're ready to accept it.

Review: Conair for Her Wet/Dry Shaver

If you’ve been following me here or on social media, you’re aware of my experiences with wax hair removal.  I bought my first wax warmer about 6 years ago and at one time I even tried waxing my bikini line… I suggest that you NEVER do that, it freakin hurts.. go to a professional for that job, for real!  I still wax myself, but mostly underarms and occasionally on my legs.

Spring is here and many of us Canadian gals are shedding our winter leg hairs and getting ourselves ready for the time sensitive spring and summer.  Although waxing my legs is fabulous, it takes a lot longer than a quick shave in the shower.  In my thinking, disposable razors are expensive and when you have a whole house full of boys, two of which already shave, it was literally making me feel like I was actually throwing out money.  Off to Walmart I went…

After going through a few electric razors, Conair for her (link shows newer model) was the only one that didn’t have a warning saying “Some materials in this product are not approved in the state of California”  Like, what the heck does that mean?  Anyway, I purchased it to see if it could replace disposable razors in both price and ability to de-hair my legs.

It comes with a base for recharging, a blade cover and two bikini comb guides (razor guards).  This shaver can be used in wet and dry conditions which is perfect for what I need.  First, I tried it on my dry legs, after getting used to the whole shaving experience my legs were smooth and hair free.  A week later, with hair regrowth, I decided to take my lil gal into the shower with some EOS shaving cream (review coming soon) and tried it out.  I was super impressed!  It glided over my legs and although I had shaving cream it didn’t skip nor shut off.

Overall, this is a great gadget to have and it’s small enough to be travel friendly.  I don’t think I’ll give up on waxing, but this is great for those days where I’m NOT so timing friendly.

Let me know if you try it out!

Weekend Movie picks: Action, Fear and Laughter

Netflix

Let’s start with Netflix.  I love when I find great movies and especially when I miss some in theatres.

Screen Shot 2016-03-05 at 1.34.27 PM

Ever since movies such as Bridesmaids and Tammy, I have been a huge fan of American actor, comedian, writer, fashion designer and producer Melissa McCarthy.  Her comedic execution has always left me laughing my ass off.  I was so excited to find Spy now available in my Netflix line up as I wait for her upcoming movie Ghostbusters  This movie has action and comedy perfectly rolled into one and I could watch it over and over.  For a great action-spy flick with some great laughs I’d curl up with a bowl of snacks and enjoy the fun in this movie.

For us fear and ghost movie lovers I finally had the chance to watch the 2015 version of the movie Poltergeist.

Screen Shot 2016-03-05 at 1.38.30 PM

With haunting ghosts great sound and visual effects this movie is a winner for me.  I enjoyed the original movie and it’s nice to see re-creations of all the classics.  This movie brought an even more terrifying feeling now that I am a parent.  Since this movie involved some creepy clown dolls, it thoroughly scared the shit out of me.  Like most, I still wonder why they wouldn’t just leave the house, however I guess that wouldn’t make for a great movie.  Turn the sound up and enjoy this new version of the classic Poltergeist it brings the classic tale up to date with todays technology.

In Theatre Now

Since I’ve been in a week long celebration of my business venture, what better way than going to a good ol’ movie.  I still love the smell and taste of fresh heavily buttered popcorn.  I wanted to feel the heavy bass from a great action movie and I definitely found it in London Has Fallen

Screen Shot 2016-03-05 at 1.35.32 PM

Gerard Butler did not disappoint with his action hero role and for me the bonus of having Morgan Freeman as a great supporting actor is always a super bonus for me.  The movie plays heavily on terrorist attacks and good ol’ American-hero-saves-the-world.  This movie made me think of the movies I’d watch with my Dad when I was a kid.  If you like action movies this is worth a theatre trip.

Happy Weekend viewing!

Wheels are in motion…

After much reflection of the past 2015, I cannot ignore the fact that I have met the most talented and the most down to earth people in the world, thus far.  My curiosity with the internet and the entertainment world has not only turned into a passion but has turned into a mission.  During my time on the internet I have had the honour of meeting producers, writers, artists and promoters.  I must say, being a woman in the world of entertainment is not an easy journey, but along the way, I have earned the respect of many who also believe in my goal.

Independent artists, in any capacity, have the extra challenge of getting heard or being seen without a lot of help and it has always been my mission to assist these artists.  The internet has so many avenues to explore and it can be a daunting and frustrating time.  In my previous interviews, the artists have always said the same thing, “Time has changed, most companies only look at my followers, not my talent…”  I can’t tell you how taken aback I was when I realized the same thought was shared with so many talented people.  YES, the social media game is fierce, but when the artists are left discouraged because of their followings, it makes it clear why people do outlandish things for internet attention.  Producing good work has somehow fallen to the wayside with a focus on the quick seller.  My hope is that time will change, yet again, so talent is the focus and priority.

In this new year, my major projects will be to hold a large event for indie artists only and more radio entertainment.  I will continue to share and entertain with my shenanigans through my Live video streaming, videos and all my social medias.  I can’t express how happy and fulfilled I am having found my niche in the world.  I am both grateful and oh so pumped for the upcoming projects and I can’t wait to share this portion of my journey with all my amazing supporters.

Thank you all so much for being my homies! (yes I am “homie” years old, lol)

Much love to all my Sweets, I’ll keep y’all posted! 😉

Christmas Countdown 2015

IMG_2641

Christmas is just 4 days away and although the holiday spirit is definitely in the air, the weather looks more like a gloomy Fall day.  It’s been raining for the last few days which makes for a lot more lazy afternoons.

The kids are officially home for the next two weeks and although I like my quiet and space, I will enjoy hearing them laughing and playing for the next two weeks.  It kind of feels like I’m on vacation too, the lil one doesn’t want to spend as much time with me when his brothers are home, so I guess I win! 🙂

I am a happy woman and so far 2016 looks like it’ll be full of even more fun and adventures!  I can’t wait!

Much love to you all, my Sweets!

LANEIGE Brightening Sparkling Water Foam Cleanser VoxBox Review

IMG_0004

I received the LANEIGE VoxBox, a couple weeks ago and it was a complete surprise, so it’s safe to say I am #lovingLANEIGE!!

I have been trying the Brightening Sparkling Water Foam Cleanser by LANEIGE over the last few weeks and it couldn’t have come at a more perfect time as I was in the market for a face cleanser to add to my daily skincare routine.

Just like hair styling mousse, you simply shake the can and spray a small amount on your hand or fingertips, then rub it evenly over your entire face and neck. The scent is fresh and sweet, similar to the smell of lemon meringue. The foam formula melts down releasing all the oils and makeup from my skin. It even removed my waterproof makeup with minimal effort.

After a thorough rinse, my face ends up feeling and smelling refreshed without any product residue.

Since I’ve been using this product, I can see a visible change in my skin. My skin tone looks a lot more even, smooth and moisturized.

You can find this Brightening Sparkling Water Foam Cleanser at Sephora priced at $30CAD for a 150ml can.

I can’t wait to try the rest of LANEIGE’s skincare line!

I’d love to hear from you and your thoughts on this product so make sure you follow my social medias and drop me a message.

Much love and happy shopping!

Restaurant Review: Garlics of London… A Gem in the City

IMG_1719

I had the pleasure of having lunch in this beautiful restaurant.  Despite the seasonal construction on the way to my reservation, the location is central and easy to find.  In addition to the beautiful modern European decor the customer service was impeccable!  The server explained that all the ingredients in every dish is made from locally grown vegetables, meat and honey; the pasta is made the evening before to provide the freshest meals.  True to her word, from appetizers to dessert and even my mimosa, everything tasted fresh and flavourful.  I personally recommend the Bacon Wrapped Bocconcini for a starter, you won’t be disappointed!

Located in the heart of London, I highly recommend visiting Garlic’s of London
