Schedules, interviews, streaming… Oh my!

The last few days have been filled with all kinds of action with the kids’ schedule and with my own.  My projects are all coming into fruition and I am loving every minute.

Due to the recent arrival of Meerkat into my life I’ve been enjoying the interactions and the pace of the social app.  I have to admit it has steered me far from my usual online social networking apps for a bit, but I’m fine tuning my schedule constantly.  I’ve met so many amazing people over the last few weeks that I can’t help but be completely addicted.

I did an experimental #20ToppingPizzaChallenge which I concocted with the help of my viewers.  They chose the ingredients and I put it together and ate it!  I live streamed the entire process and ate it in front of my audience as well as recorded it on my radio show.

IMG_1620 IMG_1621 IMG_1623It tasted exactly like it looks and it reminded me of the floor of a wild house party from my partying days.  I managed to eat a rather large piece and yes my stomach totally hurt after.  There are a ton of screenshots and Vines of the whole thing, my facial expressions were hilarious.

My next mission is to complete another Meerkat Marathon where I stay up for at least 26 hours to beat my previous record of 25 hours of live streaming.  I will not sleep throughout the whole 26 hours so I’m hoping I will be joined by my frequent viewers to help keep me awake.  I’m already exhausted just thinking of it, however I love to entertain and hanging out with some great personalities online.  Much like my MeerkatPizza above, the people who watch me are a mixtape of flavours, from sweet to awkwardly uncomfortable.  We are all watching each other and although it is a voyeur’s dream, I believe Meerkat and other live streaming apps have changed the online game completely and I am loving the changes!

This Saturday weather has been fabulous and I have the windows and curtains open, which translates to perfect nap time ambiance. 😀

I wish you all an amazing weekend ! ❤

Bye Bye March!

The final weekend of March 2015 is coming to an end and I must say I really enjoyed the month.  I accomplished a lot and organized myself to allow for my projects to finally come to fruition.  Is it sad that I finally feel like a grown up? haha I’m just kidding!  I never wanna grow up!

My new pup will be arriving in a couple days and I just finished making him a baby blanket.  Apparently, most Chinese Crested dogs are allergic to wool and I figured him coming off a 2 hour flight, probably traumatized,  he will most likely need a new blanket.  The wait was for almost 6 weeks to get him and I’m so excited to meet my new lil guy.  I plan to bring him everywhere I go, a spirit animal, if you will. 😉

I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend 🙂

Much love to you all!

Updating my gadgets and being productive

The recent Ebola threat has forced me to reschedule my traveling plans to the United States, if you know me, you know that I am completely germaphobic and carry handsanitizers in each purse.  On that note, I’ve decided to work on my Canada travels until this ebola scare is over.

My “twin” @PrincessStepfrd and I have been working diligently for our upcoming show this Friday.  We are so excited and have a lot more great interviews and shenanigans planned.  With all our planned shows comes a requirement to purchase new equipment…well more of an option than a requirement… lol

I purchased the iPad mini with Retina Display, I already have an iPad, but my children have decided to use it for their gaming needs.

I love the size of my new iPad mini it fits perfectly in my purse and is great for keeping me mobile.  I’ve been able to multitask a lot easier and can save my notes directly to it while I write on my laptop.  I’m sure I haven’t used the iPad mini to its true potential, so I will have to put my nerd cap on and figure it out.

I also received my Boostcase sleeve a lot sooner than I thought.  Like most gadgets, things happen, in this situation, my case wouldn’t charge nor recognize my phone.  I emailed the company (Boostcase) and they asked me to send a picture of the charge input.  They reviewed it and were extremely helpful.  I sent my Boostcase in to their repair department as it was still covered under Boostcase’s warranty.  They sent me an email confirming they would send me a new one and it came within a week!  I was not only relieved to finally get my extra lil power gadget back, I really need it!  Being on my phone and getting things accomplished I realized how much I actually use it.

During my last Target visit I found some Boostcase accessories on clearance so of course I got new clothes for my phone…again.. One has a detachable pouch which I use for my cash and coins (left) and the white case (right)…well I just like it 😀

Time to get to work surrounded by my gadgets…I hope you all are having a fabulous day!

Welcome Fall… farewell Texas.. for now..

IMG_4277My trip to Texas was the most exciting journey I’ve had to date.  Mainly, because I was united with my “twin” after almost 2 years of correspondence online.  As much negativity and “Catfishing” that goes on these days, I’m proud to know that there are still amazing, generous and life-loving people still around.  The excitement was built up for weeks since I booked my flight and it didn’t stop the entire stay!

IMG_4567The whole trip began at 11pm September 10th.  I made the 2 hour shuttle bus ride to Detroit then proceeded to take a 6am flight to Houston with a quick 20 minute flight to my final destination.  The travel went without any trouble and I managed to try and get a few Z’s during the flights and layovers.  I arrived a little after 9:30am Sept. 11th.  Everyone was helpful and friendly which is what I love the most about visiting the U.S.

After our only day of relaxation.. we managed to nap and had a nice dinner and conversation with my new friends.  The next day was the big Texan BBQ!

IMG_4569Princess Stepford is surrounded with the sweetest and friendliest people I have ever met.  With great food, laughs and drinks.. we partied the night away.

The next day, bright and early, the Princess and I hopped into her sweet Jeep and we made our way to Austin, Texas despite the rain, GPS problems, restaurant funnies and good ol’ humour.  I can honestly say I never stopped laughing and smiling the entire time!

IMG_4572We had a gorgeous hotel room at the Hilton Garden Inn, which was close distance to everything and since the Princess made good on her driving skills, we had enough time to unwind and take our time getting ready for the fun on 6th Street.

IMG_4574From Esther’s Follies to the Duelling Piano bar, a petty cab ride and meeting interesting people, we took in the night by seeing some sites and simply enjoying each other’s company.

The road trip back was extremely quiet as we were not only exhausted but we were both equally sad that I was going to be leaving.  There were tears shed and big hugs given with a promise that I would be back!

I am a very lucky person to have met and bonded with my beautiful Princess Stepford twin.  It was like we’ve known each other forever and I still find myself giggling silently throughout the day when I think of the fun we shared.  Along with her beautiful lil girl and her fabulous boyfriend, her family and friends, they are all the greatest people a gal like me could ever have the chance of meeting.

I will always have a deep love for Texas and my wonderful new friends.

As the Canadian weather transitions to Fall and I layer my daily attire, I do feel like the summer went out with a bang!  With the children back into their routines of going to school and daily chores I can’t help but think of when I can escape my routine days and be off for my next adventure.

To my Texas peeps… I’ll be back y’all! xoxo 😉

Slipping on my traveling shoes to visit the Lone Star State

Texas trip packing

It’s time to slip on my traveling shoes for my much anticipated Texas trip.  I have been waiting for this moment for over a year and I can’t believe it’s finally here.

I met my radio cohost (@PrincessStepfrd) via Twitter through many tweets, jokes and mutual admiration.  We had more than a few things in common and now we finally get to be united.  Being the wonderful person she is, she has planned a jam packed schedule full of fun and shenanigans.  I have been so excited since I booked my ticket and now that it comes down to, literally, a few hours my anxiety to get this trip moving is at its peak!

After several outfit changes , I clipped up my bag and tried to find things to do around the house to keep myself busy.  I changed my phone into its “traveling case” aka Otterbox.  My shuttle is confirmed and all that’s left is to slip my traveling clothes on and out to the Lone Star State I go!  Here I come my wonderful American friends! 😀

Makeup that will take me from Windy City and Austin heat

With the travel and all the projects we have planned for my upcoming trip to Chicago and Austin, I started to think.. Wait, what about my makeup?  Will it melt off my face in the heat and wind?  There’s nothing like looking fresh for the day, then I glance at the mirror, at the end of the day, and discover I look like a melted wax statue!  I don’t wear a lot of make up throughout the day as I work from home, however, I needed to find something that could protect my face and last.

I went to my local Shoppers Drug Mart and told the cosmetic salesperson what my dilemma was.  She suggested these:

IMG_0315

I’ve been using Smashbox Photo Finish Primer and Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream for the past week to test and see if these products together would solve my makeup problem.

The primer is very light and it creates a really nice smooth finish, the BB Cream is very thick yet it glides on easily.  I used my finger tips to apply both products in small amounts (little goes a long way).  I wanted to see how the product would hold up should I need to quickly apply it between flights.

Result:  I LOVE IT!

When it’s on my face it feels light and non-cakey and it does last all day.

Now, as far as the price it is on the higher end side of makeup, for both products it totalled about $100 taxes in.  That may seem pretty expensive for some, but I wanted the quality.  I’ve spent years and money wasted on drugstore brands that were always a hit and miss, so I look at this as a small investment on a great product.  Like I said before, I don’t wear a lot of makeup on a daily basis, so for me, this is a perfect fit.

Chicago and Austin… Here I come!  🙂
