The internet has become a double-edged sword for us all, some good and some bad.
I’m always on the look out for some really great movies and documentaries on Netflix and I’ve always found little hidden gems on this streaming network. I haven’t been disappointed so it’s safe to say that Netflix has given me pretty good recommendations as per my profile. This documentary, “I AM JANE DOE”, was one that immediately caught my eyes.
The documentary is ultimately dark and a sad truth of the reality these day. All the freedom to explore and have great experiences all at your fingertips. The internet has become a double-edged sword for us all, some good and some bad. If you are on the internet at all, you already have experience be it sharing family outings to being trolled by some random stranger. This movie is not the romantic side of the internet, but it shows the very real horrors of being on the internet.
Human trafficking. Just those two words together is enough to make anyone’s skin crawl, but unfortunately it is a very real epidemic that doesn’t just happen in third world countries. It seems like our North American lives turns a blind mind towards the realities of Human Trafficking. Believe it or not, North America is a haven for kidnapped children who are then sold to the long awaited customers. In this day and of age of 2017, our children are not only being kidnapped and ripped from our parental arms, but our children are at risk every moment of every day.
After watching this movie you will not only hug your children a lot more, but you will be also empowered to be proactive with your children. No one is really protected on the internet. It’s no different than being exposed to the same crimes out in public. Unfortunately, money talks and politicians are easily swayed from doing the right thing to doing what is easiest. The truth is that we are on our own, we can’t ask the government for help when they have no answers. We have to educate ourselves and our children and although we are very “free” we will always be an arms length from harm. Our complacency leaves our children in very real danger.
I encourage you to watch this documentary and use it as a tool to protect those that you love. Predators don’t hide in the shadows anymore, they hide in plain sight through the internet. Protect your babies by educating them and yourself, that’s the first defence.
I recently purchased an iPhone 7 and I absolutely love it! The size, the weight, the features etc. I agonized over whether I should get it as soon as it was launched. I finally had my chance to upgrade to the 7 and I have no regrets.
Now, the annual iPhone has arrived. This version… iPhone 8.
As a gadget lover I love following the technology trends and watching how far we’ve come. From Bluetooth connections to drones, green screens to flat screens we’ve seen all the developments. Of course I was excited to see what Apple had to offer with the iPhone 8.
I read all the specs and watched the forever genius ads and videos about the iPhone 8, but I didn’t expect the newest development Apple had to offer was made of glass!! What the..? This took me back to the iPhone 4 when the glass would crack on both the front and the back of the phones if dropped. Why, Apple? Why?! I celebrated the fact that a phone case is optional but now I look at the future of iPhones and I’m confused as to why such advanced phone technology is contained in glass. This is such a disappointment. I’m sure the bells and whistles are amazing, however if it’s housed in glass how could that technology be protected without a case? It just seems odd that the engineers picked this kind of packaging. It just doesn’t make sense.
I don’t see the iPhone 8 or the X in my future. The seduction of the camera advancements almost had me, but the glass design totally lost me.
Who knows? I may change my mind after a few demos and unboxings or I may jump off the iPhone bus. For now, I’ll be cuddling my iPhone 7 doing selfies, making videos, running my businesses and playing on social media for as long as iOS allows.
I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 7 years ago and I’ve come to understand my disease more and more each day. It’s much like riding a bike or driving, I remember how to do all those things regardless of how long it’s been since you tried riding each. MS is constantly called the “Monster” for good reason. There is no cure for MS and it leaves permanent damage everywhere it travels.
I’ll be going over the disease in a self-documentation of what my symptoms are and the various treatments that I have been trying over the years. I’m still learning more and more about my disease as well as being aware of how these symptoms have effected myself physically, emotionally and mentally.
I hope you enjoy my MS and Me serious.
I will post the video on my YouTube channel under: StilettoSupermom
Off we go…..
MS and Me Vlog Intro
MS and Me Vlog 1
It’s been awhile since I’ve done a gadget review, however I had to say something about this pretty yet purposeful gadget targeted to women.
I found this product in Winners while looking for a new replacement for a wallet I’ve had for over 3 years. I sifted through many styles including a Tommy Hilfiger one and I had to decide between the two. This is a wallet designed by Adrienne Vittadini it has a phone charger BUILT IN!
I am on my phone all day so yes I have to charge my phone before I leave then pray that my battery isn’t going to die. I drain my battery about halfway through my day and it is so annoying. This battery charger has already been a saviour!
The inside pouch has a semi-detachable charge station built inside secured by 2 snap buttons. It has a micro usb cord with a lightning adapter. Simple instructions on how to use the usb; flashing red light means charging solid red light means fully charged, blue means charging device. I have an iPhone SE and it fits perfectly in this wallet which has a wrist loop. I was looking to downsize my ever swollen wallets of the past and this is a great incentive to do it. So far, when I need an extra charge it’s right there and can be charged discretely without loose external batteries hanging around which isn’t very cute. Yes as a gadget gal, I will fall for anything that makes gadgets look cute.
If you have a chance to find this wallet or something similar, I highly recommend you pick one up to add to your summer fashion accessories. This will make an awesome gift for your fellow gadgeteers. If I find more of these wallets I’m gonna pick one up for my Mom. 😀
If you’ve been following me here or on social media, you’re aware of my experiences with wax hair removal. I bought my first wax warmer about 6 years ago and at one time I even tried waxing my bikini line… I suggest that you NEVER do that, it freakin hurts.. go to a professional for that job, for real! I still wax myself, but mostly underarms and occasionally on my legs.
Spring is here and many of us Canadian gals are shedding our winter leg hairs and getting ourselves ready for the time sensitive spring and summer. Although waxing my legs is fabulous, it takes a lot longer than a quick shave in the shower. In my thinking, disposable razors are expensive and when you have a whole house full of boys, two of which already shave, it was literally making me feel like I was actually throwing out money. Off to Walmart I went…
After going through a few electric razors, Conair for her (link shows newer model) was the only one that didn’t have a warning saying “Some materials in this product are not approved in the state of California” Like, what the heck does that mean? Anyway, I purchased it to see if it could replace disposable razors in both price and ability to de-hair my legs.
It comes with a base for recharging, a blade cover and two bikini comb guides (razor guards). This shaver can be used in wet and dry conditions which is perfect for what I need. First, I tried it on my dry legs, after getting used to the whole shaving experience my legs were smooth and hair free. A week later, with hair regrowth, I decided to take my lil gal into the shower with some EOS shaving cream (review coming soon) and tried it out. I was super impressed! It glided over my legs and although I had shaving cream it didn’t skip nor shut off.
Overall, this is a great gadget to have and it’s small enough to be travel friendly. I don’t think I’ll give up on waxing, but this is great for those days where I’m NOT so timing friendly.
Let me know if you try it out!
This was a hilarious live stream that I broadcasted yesterday night (February 27, 2017). We explored the new fads that are now available to enhance one’s genitalia. I was joined by many great watchers and we had some great laughs. It’s a very interactive show so join us at 10pm daily for some after dark talk and fun, meet some of my current and new online peeps they are absolutely fabulous!

Stiletto After Dark: What’s In Your Pants?
I spent the entire day getting my schedule together for the upcoming week, from making a new playlist for my radio show to getting my tasks in order. I have some videos to edit and I can’t wait to upload them. I also have some interviews to plan for as well as content to get organized. I admit, I’ve been all over the place, but I’m getting closer to be more consistent. Believe me when I say that this is one of the biggest challenges for me.
For example, it’s 12:09am on I’ve been so distracted with Twitter and my Instagram feeds and having a blast. I love laughing with my online folk, I can’t help but to share a few crazy tweets and pictures. Ah well, at least I’m having fun and meeting new people in the worldwide web. I can honestly say I’ve met amazing people, they could also be catfishes but at least I’ll have fun trying to find out. haha
Ok, I’ve really got to focus.. omg I’m the worst! haha
